If Life Were An Ocean…

If life were an ocean

If life were an ocean…

Your ship would be your values,

your purpose the wind in your sails.

Your spirit would be your compass

with faith as your telescope.

Your words would be your rudder,

your relationships your crew.

You would steer with your intellect

and navigate by the charts of wisdom.

You would weather the storms of conflict

and face the fierce waves of doubt.

You would fight the tides of disappointment

and avoid the shallows of despair.

You would steer away from the rocks of criticism

and  skirt the reefs of deception.

You would visit the ports of experience,

enjoying the journey and adventure.

You would see the distant shores of your dreams

and with persistence reach your destination.

Finally, in realizing your goals,

you would anchor safely in the harbor of contentment.

Are you ready to set sail?

A rational current could support your life journey, a courageous flow could lead you to your destination. Not just ride the wave, but strike hard to advance. Advance along with sharks on your side.

I like that Carece except that I don’t want to ever “anchor safely in the harbor of contentment” this side of heaven. :)

    • http://careceslaughter.com Carece Slaughter

Paul, Thank you for your thoughts, I totally agree. My meaning of that is a spiritual and emotional contentment that comes from knowing you are accomplishing your purpose. For me there will be no contentment that might be construed as complacency.

Excellent. I want answer with a poem from famous turkish Poet Nazim Hikmet.

    The most beautiful sea:
    hasn’t been crossed yet.

    The most beautiful child:
    hasn’t grown up yet.

    Our most beautiful days:
    we haven’t seen yet.

And the most beautiful words I wanted to tell you
    I haven’t said yet…

Warm regards and happy valentines day!
